Job summary

Veolia Group in Hinckley is seeking a hands-on yard operative to load and unload vehicles and manage materials across our busy site.

The role requires physical fitness, outdoor work, and adherence to health and safety, with opportunities for training and career development within Veolia's UK operations.

Qualifications

• Essential: 360 Excavator License to operate re-handling grab.
• Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Class 2 (Cat C) licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading vehicles with 360 grab.
• Handle materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are safely loaded and unloaded.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas.
• Remove debris, litter, and waste from the premises.
• Perform general yard maintenance including sweeping, tidying, and minor repairs.
• Ensure all equipment and cleaning supplies are properly maintained.
• Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues to management.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times.

Hours: 45 hours per week - Monday to Friday 06:00 - 15:30

What you’ll be doing

• Loading and unloading vehicles with 360 grab:
• Handle materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are safely loaded and unloaded from vehicles and stored in designated areas
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas
• Remove debris, litter, and waste from the premises
• Perform general yard maintenance including sweeping, tidying, and minor repairs
• Ensure all equipment and cleaning supplies are properly maintained
• Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues to management
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times

What we’re looking for

• Essential: 360 Excavator License (Both tracked and wheeled) to operate re-handling grab
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
• Desirable: Previous experience in yard maintenance
• Class 2 (Cat C) licence would be advantageous
• Up to date CPC / Digi card would be advantageous
