Job summary

Power Electrics is offering an entry-level position in a South Coast depot. You will assist the Yard Foreman and Rental team in preparing, testing and repairing diesel generator sets, with occasional travel to customer sites.

A full driving licence is desirable and training will be provided for forklift operation. You will be involved in loading/offloading, general depot upkeep, and supporting service and maintenance tasks while following company health, safety, and ISO standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in the service, maintenance and upkeep of the depot's Rental fleet
• Provide general help in the yard, loading and offloading equipment

• Record hours and fuel levels of generators
• Assist in servicing and repairing equipment off site if required
• Deliver parts and equipment by company vehicle after training
• Comply with Health & Safety and housekeeping policies

Job Purpose

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career, working with the largest generator specialist in the South. We have a variety of customers who are looking for short-term electrical power generation solutions. In this role, you will support the Yard Foreman and our Rental team in preparing, testing and repairing diesel generator sets. Although mainly depot based, on occasions you may be required to travel to customer sites, so a full driving license is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the service, maintenance and overall upkeep and appearance of the depot's Rental fleet.
• Provide general assistance in the yard, including loading and offloading equipment.
• Drive fork life in yard as required, once training has been given.
• Obtain hours and fuel levels of all generators returned by customers or Power Electrics' own transport.
• Assist in the servicing and repairs to Power Electrics and customers equipment off site if required.
• When required, drive company vehicles to collect/deliver parts and any essential equipment (once training has been given).
• Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
• Comply with all aspects of the company’s ISO management standards in quality management and environmental management, as well as health and safety best practice, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.
