Job summary

Power Electrics is seeking an entry-level team member to support the Yard Foreman and Rental team in preparing, testing and repairing diesel generator sets. The role is mainly depot-based with occasional travel to customer sites, requiring a full driving licence.

You will assist with service, maintenance, and upkeep of the Rental fleet, help in loading/offloading in the yard, and may drive a forklift after training. Training, progression, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Holder of full driving licence.
• Fork Lift Truck licence is preferred.
• CSCS card required/advantageous.
• Able to work in a team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist in service, maintenance and upkeep of the Rental fleet.
• Provide general yard assistance, including loading and offloading equipment.
• Drive forklift in yard after training.
• Record hours and fuel levels for returned generators.
• Assist servicing/repairs off-site if required.
• Collect/deliver parts using company vehicles after training.
• Follow Health & Safety policy and keep work areas tidy.
• Adhere to ISO quality, environmental standards and safety best practices; support continuous improvement.

Job description

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career, working with the largest generator specialist in the South. We have a variety of customers who are looking for short-term electrical power generation solutions. In this role, you will support the Yard Foreman and our Rental team in preparing, testing and repairing diesel generator sets. Although mainly depot based, on occasions you may be required to travel to customer sites, so a full driving license is desirable.,

• Assist in the service, maintenance and overall upkeep and appearance of the depot's Rental fleet.
• Provide general assistance in the yard, including loading and offloading equipment.
• Drive fork life in yard as required, once training has been given.
• Obtain hours and fuel levels of all generators returned by customers or Power Electrics' own transport.
• Assist in the servicing and repairs to Power Electrics and customers equipment off site if required.
• When required, drive company vehicles to collect/deliver parts and any essential equipment (once training has been given).
• Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
• Comply with all aspects of the company's ISO management standards in quality management and environmental management, as well as health and safety best practice, proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme.
