Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Yard / Generator Assistant in the United Kingdom. This full-time, permanent role supports the preparation, testing, servicing and repair of diesel generators, working with experienced engineers and the Yard Foreman.

You will assist with servicing and maintaining generators, prepare and test units for hire, load and unload in the yard, and occasionally assist engineers at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Interest in engineering, mechanics or generators.
• Workshop experience beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
• FLT licence and CSCS card advantageous.
• Reliable with a good attitude and willingness to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with servicing and maintaining diesel generators.
• Prepare and test generators ready for hire.
• Help with basic repairs and equipment checks.
• Load and unload equipment within the yard.
• Check generator hours and fuel levels when equipment is returned.
• Keep the workshop and yard clean and organised.
• Operate a forklift once trained.
• Occasionally assist engineers at customer sites.
• Collect and deliver parts when required.

£24,025 -£28,200

An excellent entry-level opportunity to join a leading generator specialist, supporting the preparation, testing, servicing and repair of diesel generators.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and the Yard Foreman, with plenty of opportunity for training and career progression.

What We’re Looking For In TheYard / Generator Assistant:

• Previous workshop experience would be beneficial
