Job summary

A renewable energy services company is seeking a hands-on Yard Engineer to join their busy team in Bristol. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, testing, and repairing generators, mainly in the yard but with occasional travel to customer sites. Candidates need a qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field, alongside strong fault-finding skills and a forklift license is preferred. This role offers a competitive salary between £28,000–£32,000 and opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Forklift truck license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, service, and maintain generators for hire.
• Carry out repairs on generators at customer sites when needed.
• Assist with loading and offloading equipment.
• Drive a forklift truck in the yard as required.
• Manage generator deliveries and returns, including refueling.
• Take part in an on-call rota.
• Keep work areas and vehicles clean and safe.
• Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Yard Engineer to join a busy team preparing, testing, and repairing generators. This role is mainly yard‑based, with occasional travel to customer sites. You’ll support the Workshop Foreman and ensure our equipment is ready for hire.

What You’ll Do:
