Job summary

NEOS Recruitment is seeking a Generator Maintenance Engineer to cover London and Greater London on a field-based basis. You will service, maintain and repair generator systems ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA, with involvement in an out-of-hours callout rota and travel across the region as required.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of relevant generator experience, strong LV power knowledge, and experience with ComAp/DSE control systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience with ComAp / Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) control systems.
• Experience using ComAp PC Suite, DSE Configuration Suite or similar engine analysis/control software.
• Excellent practical engineering ability and self-management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
• Attend reactive breakdowns across London and surrounding areas.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
• Complete remedial works and repairs.
• Work on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• Join out-of-hours callout rota.
• Prepare service reports and documentation.
• Maintain high safety and presentation standards.
• Travel outside the London region when required.

Maintenance Engineer - Generator

Location: London / Greater London - Field-Based
Salary: £35,000 - £44,000 + Company Van + Overtime
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

We are working with an established specialist in standby power, critical power and energy systems, with over 40 years' experience delivering generators, UPS systems and associated power infrastructure across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Generator Maintenance Engineer to cover the London and Greater London region.

This is a field-based role, giving you responsibility for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of generator systems while working closely with customers and the wider technical team.

The Role

You will primarily operate across London and Greater London, carrying out scheduled servicing, remedial works and reactive breakdown repairs on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.

You will also participate in an out-of-hours callout rota, responding to customer breakdowns when required.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience with ComAp / Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) control systems.
• Experience using ComAp PC Suite, DSE Configuration Suite or similar engine analysis/control software.
• Strong practical engineering ability.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable with occasional overnight stays and wider UK travel when required.
