NEOS Recruitment is partnering with an established standby power specialist to recruit a Generator Maintenance Engineer. The role is field-based across the UK, with a Midlands base, and involves servicing, maintaining and repairing generators from 10kVA to 2MVA.

You will work independently in a customer-facing environment, travel UK-wide when required, and participate in an out-of-hours callout rota. The position offers a competitive salary between £35,000 and £44,000 plus a Company van and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant Generator Service Engineer experience.
• Strong LV power generation and distribution knowledge.
• Experience with generator control systems such as ComAp / DSE.
• Experience using PC-based engine analysis and control software (ComAp PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite).
• Able to work independently in a customer-facing role.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
• Diagnose and repair generator faults.
• Attend reactive breakdowns and provide first-response support.
• Complete remedial works and repairs.
• Work on generator systems ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• Diagnose electrical and control-system faults.
• Complete service documentation and customer reports.
• Maintain strong customer relationships.
• Work safely and maintain high presentation standards.
• Participate in out-of-hours callout rota.

Maintenance Engineer - Generator

Location: Midlands / Field-Based
Salary: £35,000 - £44,000 + Company Van + Overtime
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

We are working with an established specialist in standby power, critical power and energy systems, with over 40 years' experience delivering generators, UPS systems and associated power infrastructure across the UK.

They are looking for an experienced Generator Maintenance Engineer to join their growing technical team.

This is a field-based position where you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of generators, primarily within your allocated region but with UK-wide travel when required.

The role would suit an experienced engineer who is time-served, technically strong and comfortable working independently in a customer-facing environment.

The Role

You will carry out routine servicing, remedial works and reactive breakdown repairs on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.

You will also participate in an out-of-hours callout rota, responding to customer breakdowns when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience working with generator control systems such as ComAp / Deep Sea Electronics (DSE).
• Experience using laptop-based engine analysis and control software such as ComAp PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite.
• Strong practical engineering ability and a time-served background.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with high-mileage driving and occasional overnight stays.
• Full right to work in the UK.
