Job summary

John Davidson Pipes is seeking a Yard/Branch Assistant for our Longtown branch. The role involves assisting customers, picking orders, and helping with loading/unloading using a forklift, ensuring timely processing of orders.

Ideal candidates will have good communication, literacy and numeracy, and a basic understanding of Health & Safety. Forklift licence is desirable, with long-term career and pension benefits on offer.

Your job

In this role as a Yard/Branch Assistant your duties will involve:

• Providing customers with product and service information
• Pick customer orders accurately
• Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles using a forklift truck
• Process orders accurately, within a time dictated by the customer deadline
• Serve customers on the trade counter when required
• Customer interaction

You will come to us with:

• Excellent communication skills and some customer service skills
• Literacy & Numeracy
• A hardworking & helpful individual to train in all aspects of our operation
• An understanding of Health & Safety in a work environment

Desirable:

• Experience in Warehousing
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Forklift truck licence
