Job summary

John Davidson Pipes, a leading UK distributor of civils and drainage products, is seeking a Yard/Branch Assistant for our Longtown branch. You will provide product information, handle customer orders, assist with loading/unloading using a forklift, and serve on the trade counter.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, basic numeracy, warehousing experience, and a forklift licence; training will cover all aspects of our operation and health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and some customer service skills
• Literacy & Numeracy
• A hardworking & helpful individual to train in all aspects of our operation
• An understanding of Health & Safety in a work environment
• Experience in Warehousing
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Forklift truck licence

Responsibilities

• Providing customers with product and service information
• Pick customer orders accurately
• Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles using a forklift truck
• Process orders accurately, within a time dictated by the customer deadline
• Serve customers on the trade counter when required
