Job summary

Howden, a global insurance group, is seeking a Claims Broker to join its growing Superyacht Claims team in the UK. You will take ownership of complex yacht claims, advocate for clients, and collaborate with colleagues in Southampton, London and across the international business.

The role requires proven experience in marine or yacht claims, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling marine/yacht or complex liability claims.
• Experience negotiating settlements with insurers and market participants.
• Ability to manage multiple claims with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Handle and negotiate a broad range of yacht claims, including Hull & Machinery, P&I and Crew Welfare matters.
• Advocate on behalf of clients to achieve fair and timely claims outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements with insurers, lawyers, surveyors and other key stakeholders.
• Support yacht owners and their representatives throughout the claims lifecycle, providing expert guidance and market insight.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in Southampton, London and the wider international business, including the Howden US team.
• Maintain accurate claims records and ensure adherence to market processes and systems.
• Analyse claim information and financial data to support effective reserve management and settlement negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and industry professionals.
• Identify opportunities to improve claims outcomes, service delivery and client experience across the portfolio.
