Job summary

DPD Group in Oldbury is seeking a Workshop Team Leader to manage a team of HGV technicians in a busy workshop, covering a 4 on 4 off days pattern. The role reports to the Workshop Manager and focuses on productivity, quality and safety.

You'll oversee parts, warranty work, and ensure adherence to ISO procedures, with responsibilities including assigning work, maintaining documentation, and investigating MOT issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising workshop teams.
• Experience repairing Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant machinery (yellow goods).
• Level 3 trained in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or time-served technician.
• Knowledge of Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo and Renault.

Responsibilities

• Assign work to Workshop staff to maximise productivity.
• Ensure safety and compliance with company and legal procedures.
• Oversee fitment of replacement parts and warranty issues.
• Oversee warranty claims and ensure compliance.
• Ensure workshop documents and reports are completed accurately and timely.
• Investigate MOT failures or component/vehicle issues as requested.
