Job summary

Venatu Automotive - Truck, Bus, and Car is seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Controller in Bolton to lead a busy workshop. This is a fully off-the-tools management role, overseeing day-to-day operations and a team of up to 20 technicians and support staff.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 HGV qualification, prior HGV technician experience, and proven leadership in a fast-paced workshop environment. Aiming for safety, quality, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 qualification in HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Proven experience as HGV Technician / Mechanic in a busy workshop.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Able to manage a large team and keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of up to 20 workshop staff.
• Coordinate daily workshop activities and allocate work efficiently.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and repaired to a high standard.
• Monitor workshop productivity, quality and performance.
• Ensure health & safety and company procedures are followed.
• Support development and training of workshop staff.
• Liaise with other departments for efficient operations.
• Manage workload to meet operational requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership when required.
• Drive continuous improvement across the workshop.
