Job summary

A full‑time Workshop Supervisor role based in Kidderminster with Allscreens Nationwide Ltd invites an experienced engineer to lead a late‑shift team in heavy vehicle maintenance. You will oversee diagnostics, repairs, and servicing, ensuring DVSA standards, safety, and quality while managing parts and documentation.

You will mentor technicians, plan workloads, support emergencies, and pursue development opportunities within a well‑established automotive repair group that values safety and career

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI in HGV repair.
  • Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy goods vehicles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence for vehicle classes involved.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of technicians repairing heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.
  • Perform and oversee major and minor repairs, including preventive maintenance such as tyre rotations and oil changes.
  • Ensure workshop standards are maintained, including inventory control, cleanliness, and health and safety compliance.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to identify faults and worn components in alignment with DVSA standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, servicing, and warranty claims.
  • Support technicians with diagnostics and repair planning.
  • Provide emergency repair services for clients when required.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and submitted in line with company policies.

Our client, a well-established leader in the automotive repair industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Workshop Supervisor to join their team in Kidderminster. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to take responsibility for leading a late-shift workshop team, combining hands-on HGV repair with supervisory duties to drive performance and ensure high standards of service delivery. The Workshop Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality within the workshop environment.

Requirements for the Workshop Supervisor position:
  • Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy goods vehicles, trailers, or similar commercial vehicles
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify faulty components in line with industry standards
  • Current, full UK driving licence relevant for vehicle classes involved
  • Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics and repair support
