Workshop Supervisor Required in Kidderminster
Our client, a well-established leader in the automotive repair industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Workshop Supervisor to join their team in Kidderminster. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to take responsibility for leading a late-shift workshop team, combining hands-on HGV repair with supervisory duties to drive performance and ensure high standards of service delivery. Duties:
- Lead and support a team of technicians repairing heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other commercial vehicles
- Perform and oversee major and minor repairs, including preventive maintenance such as tyre rotations and oil changes
- Ensure workshop standards are maintained, including inventory control, cleanliness, and health and safety compliance
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to identify faults and worn components in alignment with DVSA standards
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, servicing, and warranty claims
- Support technicians with diagnostics and repair planning
- Provide emergency repair services for clients when required
- Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and submitted in line with company policies
Requirements for the Workshop Supervisor position:
- Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
- Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy goods vehicles, trailers, or similar commercial vehicles
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify faulty components in line with industry standards
- Current, full UK driving licence relevant for vehicle classes involved
- Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics and repair support
