Job summary

Babcock in Richmond, North Yorkshire, is seeking a Workshop Operations Manager to lead performance and safety across the workshop. You will drive delivery through data, coordinate activities, and support continuous improvement in a defence support environment.

The role is on-site, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with security clearance requirements and a competitive benefits package including generous holiday, pension, and staff wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience using data and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel to analyse and present performance information.
• Experience working in a supervisory position.
• Ability to interpret operational data and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Experience supporting compliance, performance, or operational activities within a workshop, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, or similar environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Driving workshop performance through data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring.
• Coordinating operational activities to support safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Managing compliance and audit activities to ensure standards and policies are maintained.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
• Collaborating with supervisors and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
