Hydro International is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our wastewater services team in Portland, Dorset, with duties spanning workshop and field work across the UK. You will service, repair, and refurbish wastewater equipment for major water utilities, ensuring infrastructure operates reliably.

The role combines hands-on engineering with diagnostics, maintenance planning, and safety compliance. A mechanical apprenticeship and City & Guilds equivalent are preferred; travel and site

Qualificações

• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
• City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial mechanical installation and maintenance.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Water industry or environmental engineering experience.
• Welding and fabrication experience (MMA essential, TIG desirable).
• Confined Space certification.
• HGV licence.

Responsabilidades

• Repair and maintain mechanical and industrial equipment.
• Strip, inspect, rebuild, and refurbish machinery, pumps, and heavy industrial equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs down to component level.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare survey reports where required.
• Work safely and effectively both in the workshop and on customer sites.
• Access and interpret technical instructions using electronic devices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other trades to deliver high-quality work and customer service.
