Job summary

Hydro International, part of CRH, is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to maintain, repair and refurbish wastewater equipment in our UK service team. The role combines workshop tasks with field work at customer sites across the UK.

You will diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and support projects with safe, efficient operation. A recognised mechanical apprenticeship, City & Guilds or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

Must have a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
Experience maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of industrial mechanical installation and maintenance.
Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain mechanical and industrial equipment.
Strip, inspect, rebuild, and refurbish machinery, pumps, and heavy industrial equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
Diagnose faults and undertake repairs down to component level.
Conduct site inspections and prepare survey reports where required.
Work safely and effectively both in the workshop and on customer sites.
Access and interpret technical instructions using electronic devices.
Collaborate with colleagues and other trades to deliver high-quality work and customer service.
