Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Workshop Engineer at the Grantham Rental Facility to inspect, maintain, test, and prepare rental assets including electric submersible pumps, diesel pumps, and related gear. The role emphasises safety, reliability, and readiness for customer delivery.

Applicants should have mechanical or electrical engineering background, experience with pumps and rotating equipment, and be capable of reading technical documentation; a valid UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, diesel engines, or rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation.
• Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on pumps and related equipment.
• Prepare and inspect equipment for customer hire and delivery; perform testing.
• Maintain workshop triage area and record maintenance in company systems.
• Support stock management and health and safety compliance.
