Job summary

Xylem is hiring a Workshop Engineer at the Grantham Rental Facility. You will inspect, service and repair electric submersible and diesel pumps, motors, control panels and related gear to ensure safety, reliability and readiness for customer hire.

You will inspect assets, perform testing, and prepare equipment for delivery while maintaining accurate records and supporting stock management. The role requires a strong mechanical/electrical background, fault-finding ability, and a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, diesel engines, or rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on electric submersible pumps, diesel-driven pumps, motors, control panels and related equipment.
• Prepare and inspect equipment for customer hire and delivery; perform testing and quality checks prior to dispatch.
• Maintain workshop triage area; identify damaged equipment and report repair needs; keep accurate maintenance records.
• Adhere to health, safety, environmental and quality procedures; support stock management and continuous improvement.
