Job Description

Our client is a prestige car dealership seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join their busy site.

Workshop Controller Role:

You will manage a busy and thriving workshop daily, overseeing Technicians. This role is responsible for all aspects of workshop management, including issuing work to technicians, managing tooling & equipment, and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

Workshop Controller – Key Responsibilities:
  1. Take full responsibility for issuing work, considering workload and customer commitments as coordinated with the reception team.
  2. Ensure workshop processes adhere to retail, internal, and warranty guidelines.
  3. Optimize the issuance of work for efficiency.
  4. Oversee issuing and progressing of sales department preparation work.
  5. Provide updates on workshop progress, highlighting potential issues early and taking preventative actions to maintain customer satisfaction.
  6. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
Workshop Controller – Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or Service Manager is preferred.
  • Confidence and a strong understanding of workshop processes and team management.
  • Full driving license; any endorsements should be disclosed.
  • IT literacy; Kerridge knowledge is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and administrative skills with attention to detail, ensuring KPI accuracy.
