Octane Recruitment Limited represents a leading UK main dealership recruiting a Workshop Controller for Bristol. The role suits a Vehicle Technician seeking a long-term career with a reputable employer.

Salary £36,000 basic with OTE £43,000 plus a car; hours Monday to Friday 8am–6pm (no weekends). Benefits include pension, generous holidays, life assurance and training.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• At least 1 year of experience as Workshop Controller.
• Experience in a main dealership is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Allocate work efficiently among technicians to maximise workshop productivity and ensure timely, high-quality job completion.
• Monitor job progress, review job cards, and ensure accurate job timing for costing purposes.
• Manage all warranty and additional work procedures, ensuring correct documentation and customer authorisations.
• Maintain agreed service levels and ensure the smooth daily running of the workshop.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Supervise and support workshop staff, providing leadership and addressing performance issues.
• Ensure workshop cleanliness, compliance with Health & Safety, and adherence to all standards.
• Monitor and contribute to financial performance, supporting cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Handle and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Continuously review and improve workshop operations, promoting service excellence.

Workshop Controller Role:

Workshop Controller Requirements:

• Full UK driving license
• 1+ years experience as Workshop Controller
• Main dealership experience preferred but not essential
