Job summary

ASI Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller for a busy independent garage in the Huntingdon area. The role focuses on keeping the workshop organised, managing the team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You don’t need to be hands-on, but strong workshop knowledge and excellent organisational and managerial skills are essential. Working Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm, with one Saturday per month; salary up to £45,000 basic depending on experience, with room to grow.

We're currently looking for an experienced Workshop Controller to join a busy independent garage.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for keeping the workshop organised, managing the team and making sure the day-to-day operation runs smoothly.

You don't need to be mechanically hands-on for this position, but strong workshop knowledge and excellent organisational and managerial skills are important.

The role:

• Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm


• 1 Saturday per month may be required


• Up to £45,000 basic depending on experience


• Managing and organising the workshop team


• Controlling the daily workload and job flow


• Ensuring jobs are progressed efficiently and on time


• Liaising with customers and keeping them updated


• Overseeing workshop administration


• Using digital workshop systems


• Ensuring workshop records and processes are kept up to date

About you:

• Previous Workshop Controller or strong managerial experience within the motor trade


• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail


• Confident managing a team and taking control of a busy workshop


• Tech savvy and comfortable working with digital systems


• Strong communication and customer service skills
  
• Able to prioritise workloads and keep things running efficiently
