Job summary

Lithia UK, Evans Halshaw Hyundai in Derby, is seeking a Workshop Controller to join our growing team. You will work closely with Service Reception and Parts Teams to influence efficiency and customer experience.

The role offers £33,800 basic with £38,000 OTE plus pension, life assurance and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. If you have proven service department experience, you’ll be able to allocate jobs, manage technicians’ time and drive productivity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a motor service department.
• Strong planning, organisational and people skills.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Ability to manage technicians’ time and allocate jobs.
• Experience with OEM warranty procedures.

Responsibilities

• Account for and manage technicians' time on jobs.
• Ensure correct job card write-ups per OEM warranty procedures.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as a Workshop Controller. In this role you are a key influencer who will work closely with both the Service Reception and Parts Teams. Become part of what is already a fantastic journey. The possibilities are endless.

What does the role of Workshop Controller involve?

• Accounting for and managing Technicians time when working on jobs.
• Ensuring Job Card write up compliance with regards to OEM Warranty Procedures.
• Managing and improving workshop Productivity and Efficiency by allocating the correct jobs to the correctly skilled technician
• Identifying Technician Training Needs.

What do you need to succeed as a Workshop Controller?

• Proven experience within a service department in the motor industry
• An excellent understanding of systems and processes operated to within this environment
• A strong knowledge of Health and Safety
• Confident with dealing with people at all levels, be able to build an immediate rapport
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Comfortable in negotiating and influencing situations
• Lead by example to deliver an outstanding customer experience every time
