Evans Halshaw in Derby is seeking a Workshop Controller to act as a key influencer, working with the Service Reception and Parts Teams. The role focuses on managing technicians time, ensuring OEM warranty write-ups, and driving workshop productivity while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

The position requires proven motor industry service department experience, strong planning, good health and safety knowledge, and excellent people skills to build rapport at all levels.

What does the role of Workshop Controller involve?

• Accounting for and managing Technicians time when working on jobs.
• Ensuring Job Card write up compliance with regards to OEM Warranty Procedures.
• Managing and improving workshop Productivity and Efficiency by allocating the correct jobs to the correctly skilled technician.
• Identifying Technician Training Needs.

What do you need to succeed as a Workshop Controller?

• Proven experience within a service department in the motor industry.
• An excellent understanding of systems and processes operated to within this environment.
• A strong knowledge of Health and Safety.
• Confident with dealing with people at all levels, be able to build an immediate rapport.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Comfortable in negotiating and influencing situations.
• Lead by example to deliver an outstanding customer experience every time.
