Doocey Group in Tipton is seeking a Workshop-Based Plant & LGV Mechanic to service, maintain and repair plant machinery and LGV vehicles in a workshop setting. The role focuses on safe, compliant operation and timely repairs.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, ensure accurate records, and support refurbishment projects, with opportunities to train and develop within a growing regional contractor.

Competenze

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience maintaining plant machinery and/or LGVs.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.

The Role

Responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of plant machinery and LGV vehicles within a workshop environment, ensuring all equipment remains safe, compliant and operational.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and repair plant and LGV vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections.
• Prepare vehicles and plant for operational deployment.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience maintaining plant machinery and/or LGVs.

Qualifications & Training

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Heavy Vehicle, Plant Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering, Iretec Accredited (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• LGV/HGV Licence desirable.
