Job summary

Serco is seeking a Workforce Administrator to provide essential support across Workforce Management, Rostering, Absence and Staff Welfare. You will maintain accurate records, assist with scheduling and ensure administrative processes run smoothly to support communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Process and verify overtime claims and ensure accuracy for payroll deadlines.
  • Manage enquiries via mailboxes and provide timely support and resolution.
  • Administer annual leave requests in line with policy.
  • Support Rostering Coordinators with shift swaps and schedule changes.
  • Produce weekly/monthly TOIL reports and ensure governance compliance.
  • Provide admin support across Workforce Management, Rostering, Absence and Staff Welfare.

Location: HMP Fosse Way, Leicester, LE18 4TN Salary: £26,510 per annum, plus excellent benefits Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, working shifts between 7am and 6pm

As a Workforce Administrator in our Justice and Immigration team, you'll provide vital administrative support across Workforce Management, Rostering, Absence and Staff Welfare functions. Your work will help ensure colleagues are supported effectively, workforce processes run smoothly, and operational services continue to deliver for the communities we serve.

Working at the heart of a busy workforce function, you'll help create impactful solutions by maintaining accurate workforce records, supporting scheduling activities, and ensuring key administrative processes are completed efficiently. Through your attention to detail, collaboration and commitment to service, you'll have a positive impact on colleagues while supporting work that touches lives every day.

What you’ll do as a Workforce Administrator
  • Process and verify overtime claims, ensuring submissions are accurate, appropriately authorised and ready for payroll deadlines.
  • Manage enquiries received through shared overtime and workforce management mailboxes, providing timely support and resolution.
  • Administer annual leave requests for operational colleagues in line with workforce requirements and organisational policy.
  • Support Rostering Coordinators with workforce administration activities, including shift swaps, roster amendments and schedule changes.
  • Produce and maintain weekly and monthly Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) reports, ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
  • Provide administrative support across Workforce Management, Rostering, Absence and Staff Welfare activities as required.
Does this sound like you?
  • Experience of managing competing priorities and organising workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence communicating professionally by telephone, email and Microsoft Teams.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to develop knowledge across wider workforce and people functions.
  • Ability to multitask, remain organised and deliver high-quality work under pressure.

Vetting and checks:

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
