Job summary

Serco is seeking a Resettlement Administrator to provide essential administrative support within the Offender Management Unit. You will help prepare prisoners for release, support sentence management, and assist with rehabilitation planning to ensure timely, accurate outcomes.

You will coordinate with partner agencies, maintain confidential records, and contribute to reducing reoffending while making a positive impact on communities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative role within a busy office environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trusted working relationships.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience or knowledge of offender management, resettlement, criminal justice, or related environments would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across offender management and resettlement activities, ensuring processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain confidential prisoner records, databases, trackers, and electronic filing systems to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Support sentence management processes, including sentence calculations following completion of relevant training and accreditation.
  • Coordinate release planning activities, meetings, referrals, and documentation to support successful resettlement outcomes.
  • Liaise with Prison Offender Managers, Probation Practitioners, community partners, courts, and other external agencies to support operational requirements.
  • Monitor shared mailboxes, produce management information, and support audits and compliance activities across the department.

Location: HMP Dovegate, Staffordshire, ST14 8XR

Salary: Competitive plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Full time 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Main shifts are 8:00am – 4:30pm, with a rota requiring one to two late shifts per week (9:00am – 5:30pm).

As a Resettlement Administrator in our Offender Management Unit (OMU) team, you'll provide vital administrative support that helps prepare prisoners for release, supports sentence management processes, and enables effective rehabilitation planning. Your work will help ensure key activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within required timescales.

What You'll Do As a Resettlement Administrator

Vetting And Checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
