Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is seeking a proactive Work Experience Officer - Construction to strengthen industry links and enhance placement opportunities for Construction learners across NSCG. You will coordinate placements, liaise with employers and curriculum teams to ensure meaningful experiences and compliant processes.

• Holds a relevant qualification and substantial experience in education or learner support.
• Excellent communication and strong admin skills with meticulous record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive and professional relationships with construction employers, promoting work experience and encouraging employer participation.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to identify learners needing work experience and understand placement requirements/outcomes.
• Match learners to suitable work experience opportunities considering their programme, career aims and employer needs.
• Support learners to become work and site-ready, including CSCS cards and other industry requirements.
• Ensure placement documentation and checks are completed accurately and timely per College procedures and safeguarding/health and safety rules.
• Record and maintain work experience placements and related learner/employer information on College systems (e.g., Grofar) for monitoring and audit purposes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To develop positive and professional relationships with construction employers, promoting the benefits of providing work experience and supporting employers to participate effectively.
• To work closely with curriculum teams to identify learners requiring work experience and understand the requirements and intended outcomes of their placement.
• To match learners to appropriate work experience opportunities, taking account of their programme of study, career aspirations, skills, individual circumstances and the requirements of the employer.
• To support learners to become work and site-ready prior to placement, including relevant pre-placement
  requirements such as CSCS cards and other industry-specific requirements where appropriate.
• To ensure all necessary placement documentation and checks are completed accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with College procedures and relevant health and safety, safeguarding and insurance requirements.
• To ensure work experience placements and associated learner and employer information are accurately recorded and maintained on College systems, including Grofar, to support effective monitoring, reporting and audit requirements.
