Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is seeking a proactive Work Experience Officer to support construction learners, forging links with local employers and coordinating placements. The role focuses on creating meaningful work experience opportunities and ensuring placements meet curriculum aims.

You will work with curriculum teams to match learners, prepare them with pre-placement requirements such as CSCS cards, and record placements on college systems.

Qualifications

• Holds a relevant qualification.
• Has substantial experience of supporting young people or learners within an education, employability or structured support environment.
• Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
• Is an effective communicator.
• Has strong administrative skills, well organised, able to keep accurate and easily retrievable records.
• Holds a current driving licence and place to work and study.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive and professional relationships with construction employers, promoting work experience opportunities.
• Work with curriculum teams to identify learners requiring work experience and understand placement outcomes.
• Match learners to appropriate work experience opportunities considering study programme, career goals and employer requirements.
• Support learners to become work-ready, including pre-placement requirements such as CSCS cards.
• Ensure placement documentation and checks are completed accurately and in a timely manner per procedures and safety requirements.
• Record and maintain work experience placements and learner/employer information on College systems (e.g., Grofar) for monitoring and audit.
