The successful candidate will proactively identify and engage construction employers to secure appropriate work experience opportunities for learners studying Brickwork, Carpentry and Joinery, Electrical and other relevant Construction programmesThe ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification and have substantial experience of working with young people, employers or within an education, employability or learner support environment.Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
To develop positive and professional relationships with construction employers, promoting the benefits of providing work experience and supporting employers to participate effectively.
To work closely with curriculum teams to identify learners requiring work experience and understand the requirements and intended outcomes of their placement.
To match learners to appropriate work experience opportunities, taking account of their programme of study, career aspirations, skills, individual circumstances and the requirements of the employer.
To support learners to become work and site‑ready prior to placement, including relevant pre‑placement requirements such as CSCS cards and other industry‑specific requirements where appropriate.
To ensure all necessary placement documentation and checks are completed accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with College procedures and relevant health and safety, safeguarding and insurance requirements.
To ensure work experience placements and associated learner and employer information are accurately recorded and maintained on College systems, including Grofar, to support effective monitoring, reporting and audit requirements.
Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
Is an effective communicator.
Has strong administrative skills, well organised, able to keep accurate and easily retrievable records.
Holds a current driving licence and has use of a car.
IT literate, experience of using MS Office software and databases.
