Job summary

Kier Transportation in Glastonbury is seeking Winter Maintenance Drivers to cover unsociable hours on a rota basis including weekends, to support the maintenance team keeping the UK's roads moving.

You will drive gritter vehicles, fit a snow plough in adverse weather, and maintain driver and vehicle records; you must hold an LGV 2 licence, CPC accreditation, and be willing to undertake training.

Qualifications

• Must hold a LGV class 2 licence as a minimum.
• CPC accreditation and willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

We're looking for Winter Maintenance Drivers that can cover unsociable hours on a rota basis including weekends to join our Transportation team based in Glastonbury.

Contract

Fixed term zero hour contract to April 2027 - Flexible days / nights / weekends - Call out & weather dependant

Salary

£18.04 per hour Monday to Saturday and £23.52 per hour on Sunday and Bank Holidays PLUS weekly standby of £238.99

What will you be responsible for?

As a Winter Maintenance Driver, you'll be working within the Maintenance team,supporting them in key essential works, driving gritting vehicles to spread salt onto the roads during colder days and nights, keeping the UK's roads moving.

Your day to day will include:

• Driving a gritter vehicle, covering unsociable hours
• Fitting a snow plough during adverse weather conditions
• Maintaining relevant driver and vehicle records

• You can drive and hold a current LGV class 2 licence as a minimum
