Job summary

Majestic Wine Docklands is seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales and daily operations. You will deliver an exceptional customer experience and maintain high standards while guiding junior colleagues.

The role requires 44 hours per week with evening and weekend work, and a full UK manual driving licence. Salary is £31,062.35 with career development and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environments.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Understand retail KPIs and drive improvements.
• Prioritise and solve problems under pressure.
• Self-motivated, able to work solo or in a team.
• Can-do attitude with problem-solving focus.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• WSET 2 and 3 qualifications encouraged.
• Full UK manual driving licence with 12 months’ experience and up to 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in driving performance and day-to-day operations.
• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and KPI plans.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to grow loyalty and repeat business.
• Offer VIP customer concierge updates and tastings.
• Promote product storytelling, manage tasting events and a commercial tasting counter.
• Support recruitment, development and coaching of the team.
• Help team members develop product knowledge and achieve WSET qualifications.
• Maintain store appearance, report issues promptly and escalate as needed.
• Identify improvements to optimise store operations and ensure compliance.
