Majestic Wine Macclesfield is seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering a top-tier customer experience, and running daily store operations.

You will lead a small team, develop product knowledge, coordinate tastings, and ensure compliance while focusing on KPI performance. The role requires evening/weekend work and a UK manual driver’s licence, with a salary of £29,080.48.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Understanding of retail KPIs and how to drive improvements.
• Ability to prioritise and problem solve under pressure.
• Self-motivated, able to thrive solo and in a team.
• Can-do attitude with a passion for solutions.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Willingness to work towards WSET 2 and 3 qualifications.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in driving performance and day-to-day operations.
• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and KPI focus.
• Deliver market leading customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Provide a VIP concierge service with product updates and tastings.
• Promote products through tasting events and storytelling.
• Support recruitment, management and development of the team.
• Help colleagues develop product knowledge and achieve WSET qualifications.
• Maintain the store’s appearance and report issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and mandatory training.
• Communicate store, regional and business updates.
