Job summary

Majestic Wine Group in Peterborough is recruiting a Sales Assistant to support the store team, drive sales and deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining store standards.

You will work evenings and weekends, hold a valid UK manual driving licence, and actively develop product knowledge toward WSET level 2.

The role offers a salary of £26,436.80 per year, ongoing training, and staff discounts within Majestic's wine specialist network.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK, manual transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting the team to meet and exceed targets.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to drive growth through loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Provide VIP concierge service, proactively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
• Sell the story, sharing passion and extensive knowledge of the product range.
• Continuously learn about wine to support WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
• Maintain store appearance both internally and externally.
• Take part in all day-to-day operations: delivering wine, stock deliveries, and calling customers to drive sales.
• Identify improvements to optimise store operations and communicate ideas with the team.
• Ensure safety and legality by following policies and training, and act as a store lead in opening/closing procedures.
