Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council Catering Services department is seeking an assistant cook at Llangewydd Junior School to support the cook with meal preparation and the day-to-day coordination of this kitchen, ensuring a quality service for pupils and staff. You will cover for the Cook in their absence and may work at other schools within the county borough.

A Welsh-speaking ability is required, and an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Welsh language greeting ability is a requirement for this post.
• Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List is required.
• Term-time hours of 10:00–14:00, 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cook with universal primary free school meals.
• Assist in day-to-day kitchen management and coordination.
• Cover for the Cook in their absence and at other schools within the county borough.
