Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking General Kitchen Assistants to support school catering services across 56 schools in the county. You will help prepare, present and serve meals while ensuring a clean and safe dining environment for pupils and staff.

Hours are between 10:00 and 14:30, Monday to Friday, term time only. A Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate is required, and an Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role. Training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate is required. Training will be provided if necessary to obtain this.
• Enhanced DBS check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for the post.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Provide a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
• Lay out dining tables and chairs in schools; operate touch screen terminals where applicable.
