Job summary

Leicester College is seeking a wellbeing mentor to manage mentoring appointments and drop-in sessions, assess students’ support needs, and identify barriers to learning. You will set targets and monitor progress, and support Care Experienced young people in Personal Education Plan Meetings when required.

Requirements include GCSE Level 2 in Maths and English and a Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Experience with young people in diverse settings is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Recent and relevant experience working with young people in a diverse setting would be advantageous.

Education

Job description

As a wellbeing mentor you will be responsible for managing mentoring appointments and drop-in sessions, assessing your students' support needs, identifying barriers to their learning, target setting and monitoring progress. You will also be required to support Care Experienced young people in their Personal Education Plan Meetings representing the college when required.

  • a minimum Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above, or equivalent)
  • a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Recent and relevant experience working with young people in a diverse setting would be advantageous.
  • All the hours are Term Time Only - 37 weeks per year
