Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Student Wellbeing Mentor for a secondary school in Cwmbran, South Wales. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils aged 11-16 with ALN and behavioural needs, helping them stay engaged and build confidence.

Hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm, pay rate £14.25 per hour, and the contract runs for the full academic year. This role offers rewarding frontline experience in education and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Education Workforce Regulation registration (EWC).
• Aged 18 and over.
• Level 2 Safeguarding course (completed as part of onboarding).
• 2 professional based references which cover a 24-month period (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils aged 11-16 with ALN and behavioural needs.
• Help students stay engaged, build confidence and overcome barriers to learning.
• Support class and school activities as part of wellbeing and safeguarding initiatives.

• Care and support work
• Mentoring or tutoring
• Camp leading
• Any other transferable experience supporting children or young people must be demonstrated at interview!
