Rullion is seeking an experienced Field Engineer – Welding / NDT Inspector for a major nuclear infrastructure project in Somerset. You will provide site surveillance, verify mechanical, welding and fabrication work against approved specs, and manage NCRs to ensure quality and safety across complex construction activities.

The role requires extensive welding inspection expertise, knowledge of NDT methods and ITPs/QCPs, and the ability to communicate with construction and quality teams to uphold

Qualifications

• Extensive welding inspection experience on major construction or engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication processes and NDT techniques.
• Experience with ITPs, QCPs, inspection records and quality documentation.
• Good understanding of British and European engineering standards and construction codes.
• Ability to challenge contractors and drive quality improvements professionally.

Responsabilités

• Carry out planned and notified site surveillance of contractor activities.
• Verify mechanical, welding and fabrication works against specifications and quality standards.
• Identify, raise and manage NCRs through to close-out.
• Monitor contractor compliance with QCPs and ITPs.
• Review quality inspection records before works are covered or handed over.
• Support quality KPIs through surveillance data and reporting.
• Maintain inspection records, reports and site diaries.
• Ensure design changes follow review and change control processes.
• Collaborate with construction, engineering and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Champion health, safety, environmental compliance and nuclear safety culture.
