Job summary

Matchtech is sourcing a Quality Control Inspector (Welding & NDT) for the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. The on-site role includes occasional travel to the off-site manufacturing site in Broughton and reports to the Senior Project Quality Manager.

You will oversee welding, fabrication, installation inspections and ITPs to ensure nuclear safety compliance. Essential qualifications include CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2 in PT and RI, and strong ability to read ISO drawings.

Qualifications

• CSWIP 3.1 minimum requirement (Certified Welding Inspector)
• PCN Level 2 in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Radiographic Interpretation (RI)
• Ability to read and interpret ISO drawings and complex schematics
• Advanced welding knowledge and procedures
• Strong IT skills to prepare inspection reports and packages

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds, dimensional checks, and fabrications across stages
• Manage and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and process controls
• Oversee Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) throughout manufacture and delivery
• Conduct goods inwards checks and monitor Counterfeit, Fraudulent and Suspect Items (CFSI)
• Perform sub-contractor surveillance and produce detailed inspection reports
