Rullion is recruiting a Field Engineer - Welding & NDT Inspector to join the site's construction surveillance team. This is a field-based opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the work: inspecting installations, engaging with contractors and identifying quality issues before they become bigger problems.
Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, you will provide independent surveillance of welding, fabrication and construction activities, checking that work complies with approved drawings, contractual requirements and quality arrangements.
You will combine technical judgement with a practical approach to contractor relationships-challenging concerns clearly, supporting their resolution and helping maintain a strong nuclear safety culture.
A current CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector qualification as a minimum.
Practical NDT experience and a sound understanding of UK PCN certification requirements, including current PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Hands-on welding or fabrication experience, supported by a strong track record of weld inspection on construction or engineering projects.
A qualification in mechanical engineering, materials or welding, or equivalent vocational training and relevant experience.
Working knowledge of metallurgy, welding processes, weld defects and the application of NDT.
Experience applying relevant British, European or international construction and design codes, such as BS EN, ASME or RCC-M.
Confidence interpreting construction drawings, inspection plans and quality records within a safety-critical environment.
Experience identifying non-conformances, producing clear inspection reports and following corrective actions through to completion.
The confidence to challenge work constructively and build effective relationships with contractors and site teams.Experience that would strengthen your application
