Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a hands-on welder/fabricator to join the Fabrication/Weld department in Northampton. You will work on the 2200-0600 shift (38 hours per week) from Sunday to Thursday, tacking and welding metal components to drawing specifications and inspecting parts before and after welding.

You’ll grind and fett a parts using air and electric hand tools, read drawings, and be prepared to undertake other duties with training provided as needed.

Job description

Who will you be working with?

Bearward Engineering is a Northampton based firm manufacturing radiators for the power generation industry.


How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Fabrication/Weld department team, working on the 2200-0600 shift (38 hours/week) Sunday to Thursday, you will be responsible for tacking and welding metal components as per drawing, checking quality of parts before and after process of welding. Measuring parts before and after weld against drawing, griding and fettling product using air and electric hand tools.


You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
