Job summary

FCC Environment in High Wycombe is hiring a Weighbridge Operator to manage site weighbridge operations for vehicles carrying waste and recyclables. The role is full-time, with an hourly rate of 12.71 and a 45-hour week, based at SL7 3DJ.

You will maintain accurate weighbridge records, provide courteous service to customers and hauliers, and support mobile plant tasks as needed. Training, progression, and a clear path to specialist duties are offered within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge systems in line with Duty of Care, permit, and policies.
• Maintain reliable and accurate weighbridge records.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to customers and haulage subcontractors.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and records are completed.
• Undertake site maintenance tasks (grounds, litter picking, tidying).
• Provide cover for team members on weighbridge or with mobile plant.
• Operate loading shovel safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Complete daily start-up inspections of mobile plant and report defects.
• Assist with loading vehicles for onward waste transport and move waste efficiently around site.

Weighbridge Operator

As a Weighbridge Operator at FCC Environment, you will operate the site weighbridge, ensuring vehicles carrying waste or recyclables are weighed when entering and exiting the facility. You will also support the operation of mobile plant at the Transfer Station when required, helping to manage waste stockpiles and load waste materials safely and efficiently.

What will you be doing?

• Operating the weighbridge systems in accordance with Duty of Care regulations, the waste management permit and company policies and procedures.
• Maintaining reliable and accurate weighbridge records.
• Providing a courteous and efficient service to customers and haulage subcontractors.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained as required, and appropriate records are completed.
• Undertaking maintenance and cleaning tasks around the site, including grounds maintenance, litter picking and general tidying.
• Providing cover for other team members on the weighbridge or operating mobile plant when required.
• Operating a loading shovel safely and efficiently in line with company procedures.
• Completing daily start-up inspections of mobile plant and reporting any defects to the Site Supervisor.
• Loading vehicles for the onward transportation of waste and helping to ensure waste is moved efficiently around the site.
