Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited is recruiting a reliable Weighbridge Operator to work at a busy waste and recycling site in Lancashire. The role includes operating the weighbridge, controlling vehicle movements and delivering exceptional frontline customer service.

Start ASAP on a 6-month contract, with Mon-Fri 7:00 am–4:30 pm. You'll also handle general admin, maintain tonnage records, conduct site inductions and ensure PPE and health & safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Previous administrative experience in a busy environment.
• Good computer literacy with Word/Excel and standard office apps.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate weighbridge system and control vehicle entries/exits.
• Carry out general admin duties including phone enquiries.
• Conduct site inductions for visitors and ensure procedures are followed.
• Ensure entrants wear PPE and documentation complies with procedures.
• Maintain accurate tonnage records and site documentation.

About the Role

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a reliable, organised and customer-focused

Weighbridge Operator to work at a busy waste and recycling site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the site's weighbridge system, controlling vehicle movements in and out of the site, maintaining accurate tonnage records and delivering outstanding front-line customer service.

Working in a fast-paced environment handling over 150 vehicles per day, you will need strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the site's weighbridge system and control all vehicle entries and exits.
• Carry out general administrative duties, including answering telephone calls and directing enquiries.
• Conduct site inductions for visitors and ensure all relevant procedures are followed.
• Ensure everyone entering the site has the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with legal requirements and site procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a tidy, organised and professional office environment.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, visitors and colleagues.
• Deliver outstanding front-line customer service at all times.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Previous administrative experience, ideally within a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other standard office applications.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• A professional, proactive and reliable approach to work.
• A commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Previous experience in the waste management or recycling sector.
• Experience operating a weighbridge system.

Hourly Rate: £12.81 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm
