The Best Connection is seeking a reliable Weighbridge Operator to join a busy waste and recycling site. You will manage weighbridge operations, control vehicle movements, and maintain precise tonnage records while delivering outstanding customer service.

In a fast-paced environment, you’ll handle over 150 vehicles per day, demonstrate strong administrative skills, and ensure compliance with PPE, health and safety, and site procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Operate weighbridge system and control all vehicle entries/exits.
• Carry out general administrative duties, including answering calls.
• Conduct site inductions for visitors and ensure procedures are followed.
• Ensure entrants wear appropriate PPE.
• Complete documentation in line with legal/site procedures.
• Adhere to health and safety policies.
• Maintain a tidy, professional office environment.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and colleagues.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm

About the Role

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a reliable, organised and customer-focused Weighbridge Operator to work at a busy waste and recycling site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the site's weighbridge system, controlling vehicle movements in and out of the site, maintaining accurate tonnage records and delivering outstanding front‑line customer service.

Working in a fast‑paced environment handling over 150 vehicles per day, you will need strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the site's weighbridge system and control all vehicle entries and exits.
• Carry out general administrative duties, including answering telephone calls and directing enquiries.
• Conduct site inductions for visitors and ensure all relevant procedures are followed.
• Ensure everyone entering the site has the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with legal requirements and site procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a tidy, organised and professional office environment.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, visitors and colleagues.
• Deliver outstanding front‑line customer service at all times.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Previous administrative experience, ideally within a busy, fast‑paced environment.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other standard office applications.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• A professional, proactive and reliable approach to work.
• A commitment to health and safety procedures.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience in the waste management or recycling sector.
• Experience operating a weighbridge system.
• Familiarity with vehicle movements, tonnage tracking or site administration.

Contract Details

• Hourly Rate: £12.81 per hour
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Contract Length: 6 months, with the potential for a permanent position
