FCC Environment is hiring an HGV Driver / Loader in a full-time role. The position involves waste collection, driving vehicles and loading waste, while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently in line with policies and legislation.

You will be part of a team and work to required standards, maintaining vehicle safety, and using tachographs and relevant logbooks as needed. Training and progression opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV/LGV licence and Driver CPC qualification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety practices related to waste collection.
• Experience working in the waste industry preferred.

Responsabilités

• Carry out waste collection duties, drive vehicles and load waste.
• Meet cleanliness standards and timescales.
• Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Follow safety instructions and wear PPE as required.
• Operate equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
• Record job progress using required systems and logbooks and report issues promptly.

HGV Driver / Loader

Hourly rate

£18.17 per hour

As an HGV Driver / Loader at FCC Environment, you will carry out waste collection duties, including driving operational vehicles and collecting and loading waste. You will ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements, relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.

This vacancy is for a full-time position.

What will you be doing?

• Carrying out waste collection duties, including driving vehicles and collecting and loading waste
• Completing work to the required cleanliness standards and timescales
• Working independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Following all safety instructions and wearing the designated personal protective equipment
• Using equipment and machinery correctly and safely
• Completing daily vehicle safety and defect checks
• Reporting vehicle defects, incidents, incomplete work and other issues promptly
• Using required systems and electronic devices to record job progress, service exceptions and completed work
• Driving safely, lawfully and efficiently, with consideration for road traffic legislation and weather conditions
• Using tachographs or logbooks and complying with drivers' hours legislation
• Representing the company and client professionally
• Maintaining positive working relationships with Council Officers

What are we looking for?

• A valid HGV/LGV Category C licence
• An up-to-date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualification
• Knowledge of manual handling and health and safety
• A good understanding of waste collection activities
• Previous experience working within the waste industry
• A positive attitude and the ability to work in a multicultural environment
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A motivated and trustworthy individual with a good work ethic
