MTrec Technical in the United Kingdom is seeking a permanent Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced, dynamic company with a strong team culture and clear opportunities to progress. You will attend and resolve equipment breakdowns, maintain preventative plans and support continuous improvement across production lines.

The role requires fault-finding on electrical and automated systems, adherence to PPM schedules and involvement in root-cause investigations to deliver permanent

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification and a four-year electrical apprenticeship with City & Guilds Part 2/NVQ Level 3.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition compliance is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Ability to fault-find on electrical and automated systems.
• Strong methodical problem-solving approach.
• Experience with PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Follow and improve preventative maintenance plans to reduce downtime.
• Ensure the annual PPM schedule is adhered to and completed.
• Record follow-up maintenance in a timely manner.
• Support root-cause investigations for repetitive breakdowns and implement permanent solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with project work requiring engineering involvement.
• Improve line efficiency through timely repair and maintenance.
• Improve quality and reduce spoilage through maintenance improvements.

MTrec Technical is recruiting a permanent Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for attending and resolving equipment breakdowns, maintaining preventative maintenance plans, ensuring PPM schedules are adhered to, supporting root‑cause investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Shift Pattern

• 12 Hour Day Shifts – Saturday and Sunday, and either Monday or Friday depending on preference.

The Job You’ll Do

• Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Follow and improve preventative maintenance plans with the aim of reducing unplanned downtime.
• Ensure the annual PPM schedule is adhered to and completed as required.
• Ensure that planned maintenance follow‑up work is recorded and carried out in a timely manner.
• Support root‑cause investigations for repetitive breakdowns and to implement permanent solutions.
• Be involved in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with relevant project work where engineering involvement is required.
• Ensure line efficiency is improved through timely repair, maintenance and improvement of equipment.
• Ensure quality is improved and spoilage is reduced through timely repair, maintenance and improvement of equipment.

About You

• Recognised electrical engineering qualification, four-year electrical apprenticeship, with a minimum of City & Guilds Part 2 / NVQ Level Three qualifications.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition.
• Proven experience working in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Have the skills to maintain and fault‑find on electrical and automated systems.
• Strong methodical approach to problem solving.
• Experience with PLCs.
