Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical in the United Kingdom is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a permanent team. You will work a 3-shift system (6-2, 2-10, 10-6) and maintain a range of special purpose equipment, performing diagnostics, PMs and downtime prevention.

The role requires an apprenticeship followed by an HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering, plus at least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised Apprenticeship and be educated to HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience with strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
• Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings for fault-finding purposes.
• Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Basic fabrication skills are advantageous.
• Knowledge PLCs ladder logic and structured text.
• Good IT skills using Microsoft packages Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations.
• Be flexible to work 3 shifts including nights, as well as overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and repair of special purpose equipment and make sure it works correctly.
• Formulation and execution of effective (value-added) planned maintenance (PM) to prevent disruption of activities.
• Prioritisation, validation, and completion of maintenance requests.
• Control of Inventory using engineering database.
• Pilot key equipment using maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs) to formulate and execute improvement action plans.
• Mentor and support to maintenance apprentices.
• Capture of comprehensive maintenance data for equipment history and ‘lessons learnt’ purposes.
• PLC fault finding using PLCs for remedial actions and process improvements.
• Coordinate with maintenance engineering department for external modifications and future installations.
• Support improvements identified through the Red Tag and 6S process.
• Shift handovers must be completed.
• Support a culture of change and improvement within the engineering department.

About You
