Job summary

Meallmore operates Leven Beach care home in Leven, offering nursing, residential and dementia care. We are seeking a Weekend Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team and support chefs with basic tasks.

You will help with dishwashing, kitchen cleanliness, and basic food preparation while maintaining hygiene standards. Full training provided; weekend hours required. Opportunities through Kitchen Excellence Academy.

Weekend Kitchen Assistant

Salary: £12.76 per hour

Hours: 16 hours per week: Saturday & Sunday, 9.30 am – 6 pm

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. A good kitchen is a clean kitchen, and as a kitchen assistant you’ll be tasked with ensuring the hygiene and cleanliness are the best they can be whilst supporting chefs with basic tasks.

Role & Responsibilities

• Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
• Keeping kitchen areas clean and organised
• Assisting with basic food preparation when required under the supervision of the chefs
• Unloading deliveries and storing food items properly
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of kitchen duties
• Ensuring hygiene and safety standards are maintained

• A personal and warm approach with a genuine interest of the well-being of our residents
• It would be helpful to have a basic knowledge of food preparation and food hygiene however full training will be given – so we are keen to speak to anyone who likes a kitchen environment, who is interested and passionate about food and who cares about others
