Job summary

Meallmore in Daviot (Scotland) is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. You will help keep the kitchen clean, wash dishes, assist with basic food prep, and support the chefs under supervision.

This role offers 33 hours per week at £12.76 per hour with overtime options, free parking, subsidised meals, and a commitment to staff development through our Kitchen Excellence Academy.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or catering environment preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain hygiene standards.
• Commitment to supporting chefs with basic tasks.
• Good communication and reliability.
• Full training provided for food hygiene and prep basics.

Responsibilities

• Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
• Keeping kitchen areas clean and organised
• Assisting with basic food preparation when required under the supervision of the chefs
• Unloading deliveries and storing food items properly
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of kitchen duties
• Ensuring hygiene and safety standards are maintained

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. A good kitchen is a clean kitchen, and as a kitchen assistant you’ll be tasked with ensuring the hygiene and cleanliness are the best they can be whilst supporting chefs with basic tasks.
