Job summary

Chartwells Independent is seeking a weekend Helpdesk & Switchboard Operator in High Wycombe. The role is a weekend, zero-hour position with a rate of £13.17 per hour. You will be the first point of contact for callers, handling enquiries and maintaining critical communications.

Responsibilities include answering calls, monitoring alarms, logging information, providing admin support and handling emergencies with professionalism. Weekend availability is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous office, helpdesk or switchboard experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT and administrative skills.
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
• Flexible approach to working weekends and varying shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer-based switchboard system.
• Answer and manage incoming calls and service requests.
• Monitor and respond to alarms, including fire, trauma and security alerts.
• Record and maintain accurate information and logs.
• Provide administrative and clerical support as required.
• Respond confidently and professionally to emergency situations.
• Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
